Tips and tricks to make you look fab - fast!

Make-up artist Jules Cardozo-Marsh was in charge of Chelsy Davy's make-up for the Royal Wedding. Here she reveals her top tips for going from drab to fab - fast.

Lash lovely. Thick, long lashes are great for making your eyes appear larger and more awake, and the quickest way to fake long lashes is with falsies! These fail safe essentials come in a variety of styles to suit everyone – I love the A H Francis ‘Supernatural Gazer’ Lashes (£5.95, www.buybuybeauty.co.uk) which add subtle definition and really make your eyes stand out.

Eye wide. Brighten dark, sullen eyes by applying a light, cream eye shadow with a pearly finish to the inner corner of your eye, then blending along the upper lash line. Create a smokey look in seconds by smudging the lavera Soft Eyeliner in Grey (£8.50, www.lavera.co.uk) along the upper and lower lash lines for a sultry finish.

Get lippy. To achieve a full, plump pout, choose a lipstick with a creamy consistency in nude or any shade that matches your natural lip tone. With a lip brush, carefully apply your lipstick starting from the middle of the mouth, working your way out towards the corners, then with a lip gloss one shade lighter than your lipstick, apply to the centre of your upper and lower lips to attract light and create an illusion of fuller lips.

Lighten up. To lighten the load when you have applied too much foundation, simply massage a pea-sized amount of your moisturiser onto a damp makeup sponge and pat onto your skin in downward motions to gently remove any excess foundation, without leaving uneven streaks. Finish by running your fingertips over your skin to blend completely.
