WHAT: West Berkshire Annual Mencap Westie Walk. Chief Executive of West Berkshire Mencap is rallying all West Highland Terrier owners (and other dog breeds too!) for a walk at Greenham Common. WHAT: Live ballet and opera broadcast direct from the Mariinsky Theatre, St Petersburg. The Mariinsky Ballet's legendary production of La Bayadère is being broadcast live from the annual Stars of the White Nights Festival in St Petersburg for the first time, conducted by the great Valery Gergiev. Two days later, it's followed by the Mariinsky Theatre's new production of Prokofiev's War and Peace (also conducted by Gergiev) live from the Mariinsky's new theatre, Mariinsky II, which opened in 2013.
