AQUAFRESH TEAMS UP WITH CHILDREN’S ILLUSTRATOR TO SPARK CREATIVITY IN THE CLASSROOM

Aquafresh has launched a nationwide competition to help children uncover their creative side, offering one winner the chance to have a story brought to life by illustrator of The Famous Five, Becka Moor.

Every year, 60,000 school days are lost to tooth extractions and poor oral health with tooth decay affecting a staggering 25% of 5-year olds. That’s why Aquafresh is re-launching the Brush Time Tales competition, educating young people on the importance of dental hygiene by making brush time, fun time.

The competition invites children aged 5-7 years to submit their own Brush Time Tale - a short 2-minute story that can be read while they clean their teeth. The winner, chosen in November, will receive £500 worth of Oxford Reading Tree books for their school, as well as the opportunity to have their story brought to life by children’s book illustrator and author, Becka Moor. Known for illustrating books from series’ including Wigglesbottom Primary, Super Cats and The Famous Five, Becka will reimagine the winning entry which will then be framed and gifted to the winner and their school.

Becka commented: “I love bringing stories to life and inspiring young people, so I’m really excited to be partnering with Aquafresh. Whether it’s helping to inspire the next generation from a creative point of view, or helping to make ‘simple’ tasks such as brushing your teeth more fun, story-telling is the perfect way to do that. I can’t wait to make a child’s dream become a reality as part of the Brush Time Tales competition.”

As well as contributing towards the winning prize, Becka will also be part of the judging panel for the Aquafresh Brush Time Tales competition. “I’ll be looking for a story that has a lot of thought and imagination behind it, as well as one that I would want to read to keep me entertained while I brush my teeth!”
