To celebrate the bicentenary of Charles Dickens's birth, the great British novelist is being celebrated in a thrilling new West End play. The Mystery Of Charles Dickens is written by Peter Ackroyd, historian, biographer and poet, who brings all of the intrigue, marvel and excitement of Dickens to the stage.
Renowned actor Simon Callow (Four Weddings And A Funeral, Shakespeare In Love), takes the lead in portraying 49 of Charles Dickens's best-loved creations. Callow, fresh from his appearance in the New York production of Being Shakespeare, is making his much-anticipated return to the West End, and his exhilarating enactment of the character of whom he has written extensively, brings an insight into the life, times and mind of Dickens, who was also known to give the occasional recital.
The Mystery Of Charles Dickens runs at the Playhouse Theatre, Northumberland Avenue, London WC2, until 10 November.
