There is perhaps, nothing more calming and perspective-inducing than realising how small and insignificant our personal issues and problems are, when compared with the centuries that have gone before us and the awesomeness of the earth. To help those who may be struggling at the start of a new year, The Lulworth Estate in Dorset, one of the most geologically significant and beautiful places on earth, is offering a unique ‘Awesome Earth’ weekend package.
The package includes a guided daytime walk allowing participants to step back millions of years and view the underbelly of the earth (as well as two of the UK’s most instagrammable sites), a guided dawn visit to Durdle Door to see the sun rise over the Jurassic Coast (for those coming before the end of January, it may be possible to see ‘Durdle Door Through the Keyhole’) and a three-night stay in one of the Estate’s 12 luxury self-catering cottages. Groups of up to 18 can take part in ‘Awesome Earth’, thanks to the Estate’s two, recently launched ‘country manor’ properties – The Lindens and Woodside Lodge.
The Lulworth Estate’s ‘Awesome Earth’ weekend package:
- Saturday: A guided earth history daytime walk to some of the Lulworth Estate’s most famous geographical sites with Lulworth Outdoors – inc. a visit to Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door
- Sunday: A pre-sunrise walk to Durdle Door to watch the sun rise over the beautiful Jurassic Coast with Lulworth Outdoors (subject to weather and tides this may include a chance to see the Durdle Door ‘Through the Keyhole’ spectacle)
- Includes a 3-night stay in one of the Lulworth Estate’s luxury self-catering cottages
- Prices vary according to the Lulworth Estate cottage booked as part of the package and range from £170 per person (Awesome Earth package plus a 3 night stay at Spring Cottage) to £390 per person (Awesome Earth package plus a 3 night stay at Cove Cottage.) Bookings during February Half Term will require an additional supplement
- Package can be booked by groups as large as 18, but there is a minimum booking number of 2
- Bookable during all weekends from 22nd January until 22nd February 2020
- Bespoke and weekday packages available throughout the year on request
