Should I start to apply fake tanning products now summer is drawing to a close?- DeVonne, Braintree, Essex
More people are wearing fake tan throughout the year as the formulas get better. Organic skincare brand Green People has just launched Liquid Gold Tanning Drops (£35, greenpeople.co.uk), which can be used on their own or added to your moisturiser. The 85 per cent organic formula helps to provide free-radical protection with seaweed and green tea.
Going into autumn, are there any colours that would be good for my makeup and/or clothes? I’ve got a sallow complexion.- Becky, Louth, Lincolnshire
You could invest in a purple-toned colourn corrector, which works by reducing the appearance of yellow and sallow tones. NYX and Smashbox both stock good ones. Blusher on the apples of your cheeks will give your skin a pick-me-up, as will a bold statement lip colour. Reds are always popular when we head into autumn, although it can take some getting used to such a striking colour.
I’m trying to grow my hair long and it’s at the stage where it’s driving me mad! I can just about manage a short ponytail but it looks so boring. Can you recommend anything to dress it up a bit, or do I give in and go back to short again?- Louisa, Bournemouth
Why not book an appointment with the amazing team at Artisté, the on-demand hair and make-up app. Its creative director Thomas Hope suggests wearing your hair in different textures by adding a ‘high shine to your little pony, or a parting, for a touch of glamour’. Most importantly, remember your scalp and hair routine is important to encourage growth. Try a daily scalp massage, snip off split ends, and add moisture when it’s feeling dry. Persevere, Louisa!
